What carries over from limoncello?
The core technique still applies to citrus: remove the colored zest without pith, infuse it in neutral alcohol, filter, dilute with cooled syrup and rest. Start with the tested limoncello method, then use the fruit-specific experiment to adjust zest quantity and sweetness.
What does not carry over automatically?
Equal weights of different zest do not guarantee equal flavor. Orange zest was subtler than lemon in the original test, lime remained distinctive even with vodka, and Meyer lemons shifted both aroma and bitterness. Whole fruit also adds water, acid and sugar, which makes pineapple and juice additions fundamentally different from zest-only infusions.
